  • Writing an Academic Literature Review

    This workshop is a great fit for graduate students and doctoral students/candidates who have decided on a narrow research topic in the social sciences and are looking to start writing or revising their literature review. The workshop will include instruction on APA style formatting.

    The first two dates of the workshop include lectures, small group discussions and networking, and open time for questions and brainstorming. Whenever possible, attendees will be grouped by areas of interest.

    Students looking for additional feedback can register for the third session, which will be focused on peer review. Students who register for this additional session must commit to reviewing and providing feedback on at least one other workshop attendee’s literature review.

    The workshop will be held via Zoom.

    This workshop is designed to support higher education professionals who would like to publish written work based in research, theory, or practice.

    Whether you have an idea, on ongoing project, or a full draft, in this workshop, we will work to refine your ideas, articulate a research question, choose appropriate methodologies, organize your document, write in an academic style, and select the right journal for your submission.

  • Turning Your Dissertation Into a Journal Article

    Often, a doctoral dissertation can be condensed into one or more articles that can be submitted to journals for publication. In this workshop, I help attendees identify possible articles to pull from their dissertations, make decisions about what to include and exclude in each article, and select appropriate journals for submission.
